Tamang
Society of the United Kingdom is a charitable and non
profit making organisation devoted to look after the social,
religious and cultural affairs. The growing number of
Tamangs residing in the UK over the last couple of years
necessitated the formation of this Society in order to
communicate and share the language, culture, religion
and traditions. Membership is open to all Tamangs residing
in the UK and honorary membership to those who wish to
become friends of the Society regardless of colour, creed
or ethnicity. The principle objectives of the Society are:
-
To examine and resolve a myriad of problems that
may arise as Tamangs settle down in the UK and integrate
in the wider community.
-
To provide a focal point.
-
To organise social, cultural and religious events
for the enjoyment and benefit of all its members.
-
To preserve Tamang traditions and educate the younger
generation who are born outside Nepal and brought
up in a foreign environment.
-
To help in the raising of funds for various charities
in Nepal and in the UK.
-
To provide a link and develop friendship with different
Nepalese ethnic communities and other organisations
in the UK.
